Yanolja Research Director SooCheong Jang and Professor Kyuwan Choi of Kyung Hee University’s College of Hotel & Tourism Management participated as keynote speakers at the 16th Busan Tourism Future Forum, held on June 1 at the Busan Tourism Organization conference hall.

Hosted by the Busan Tourism Organization and sponsored by Busan Bank, the forum brought together approximately 60 participants from the tourism industry and related organizations to discuss the future growth direction of Busan’s tourism industry and strategies for regional tourism connectivity.

Director Jang delivered a presentation titled “Current Status and Future Development Directions of Busan Tourism,” offering insights into how Busan can strengthen its tourism competitiveness amid a changing industry environment.

Dr.Choi presented on “Practical Strategies for Revitalizing Busan Tourism,” sharing perspectives on expanding tourism linkages across the southeastern region and advancing broader regional tourism cooperation.

Key topics discussed at the forum included a “hub-and-spoke” strategy connecting Busan with nearby destinations, the expansion of stay-based tourism, the linkage of tourism resources across the southeastern region, and the development of a mega tourism zone built on interregional collaboration. Yanolja Research will continue to contribute to policy and industry discussions aimed at enhancing regional tourism competitiveness, drawing on its research expertise and professional network in the tourism sector.
