On May 8, 2025, a side event titled the “Regional Tourism Revitalization Workshop in Response to Local Extinction” was held during the 2025 All That Travel Fair at COEX.
At the workshop, Sung-Sik Park, CEO of Yanolja Research, delivered a special lecture on the topic “Strategies for Revitalizing Regional Tourism in Korea – Focusing on Case Studies from Japan.”

In his lecture, Mr. Park diagnosed the structural reasons behind the underperformance of regional tourism in Korea and proposed practical solutions for sustainable revitalization.
He particularly analyzed Japan’s regional tourism strategies—highlighting the country’s geographic, cultural, and demographic similarities to Korea—and suggested how these approaches could be effectively adapted to boost regional tourism in Korea.
